One Is Too Many!

Idk what hurts worse, losing friends, brothers, to the war overseas, or losing them to the war we fight each day back here at "home" in our heads. It's easy to stay alive amidst the chaos. The hard part is staying alive when the war "ends" and the gunfire ceases. 22 of my fellow brothers take their lives per DAY. My heart breaks, because we feel the loss of each and every one. Where is the MSM attention? Where are the congressional hearings? Where are the President's remarks? Where are the semi-choked up speeches and on-cue tears of our elected leader/s??? Where is the public outrage? You will always call on us to fight your wars, to police your conflicts, to clean up your messes, to do your dirty work. And we will always answer that call. But we will never look to you to pick us up when we fall, or to hold us up when we lose strength, or to watch our six in the deepest, darkest Hell that you send us to. We will never expect you to stand by us. Because you do not deserve to. You are not worthy to stand in our ranks, to cast your eyes to our guidon, to call us "Brother," to live, sweat, breathe, and die with us. We look to ourselves and to each other. Because only in each other do we find that strength and support. My brothers have carried me, and if you are my brother, I will carry you. If you are my brother, I will have your six. If you are my brother, I will stand by you. If you are my brother, I will fight to the last blood filled, agonizing, gasping breath with you. If you are my brother, I will pick you up when you fall. If you are my brother, I will cry with you. If you are my brother, I will cover you. If you are my brother, I will fight with you, and I will die with you. We lose 22 brothers a day. This is not acceptable. One is not acceptable. You are not alone, brother. When you stumble, please let us pick you up. Call any station on the net, we will answer you. Please do not give up. We have buried enough, let us have your six so we don't have to bury you.
